Funeral Director, James D. Heald

James D. Heald is a 4th generation Funeral Director and Embalmer with over 20 years of experience. From 1995 to 2003 Jim, worked as an assistant manager and licensed director at the former Manzi Funeral Home in Worcester , MA . He has also gained significant funeral management experience throughout metropolitan Massachusetts , Manhattan and Queens , NY . 

The recipient of several awards, Jim was recognized in 2000 by the Worcester Business Journal with its "40 under 40" award for having made a significant contribution to his chosen field. He has been recognized by the National Funeral Director's Association with the Certified Pre-Planning Consultant designation that indicates and recognizes his participation in continuing professional education.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Morturial Studies with concentrations in Social Rehabilitation and Gerontological Studies from Assumption College , Worcester , MA , in 1993. He then earned an Associates degree in Funeral Service from Mount Ida College , Newton , MA in 1995, after which he became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Jim is a resident of Shrewsbury.

Funeral Director, John M. Heald

John M. Heald is a fourth generation Funeral Director and Embalmer with 14 years of experience. He began his career as an apprentice before becoming a Registered and Certified Funeral Director at the Eaton Funeral Home, located in Needham and Newton, MA, one of the oldest independent funeral homes in the country. John then served for four years as a regional sales representative for Batesville Casket Company.

In addition to his role as partner at Heald & Chiampa, John has served as the head of sales and business development for Tributes.com since 2005. Tributes.com is the online resource for current local and national obituary news, lasting tributes celebrating the lives of loved ones, and an online community that provides support during times of loss and grief.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant University, Smithfield, RI, in 1993 and an Associates Degree in Funeral Service from Mount Ida College in 1997, after which he became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.

John and his wife, Kathryn, and two daughters live in Shrewsbury where he serves as a member of different community organizations such as the Leadership Committee of the Shrewsbury Public Library. John also serves on the Board of the Advisory Board of the 15-40 Connection, www.15-40.org, a local non-profit started to promote health awareness, advocacy and action to increase promote early detection of cancer in teens and young adults.

Funeral Director, David M. Chiampa

David M. Chiampa, a Newton , MA native, has been a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer since 1978. His career began with positions at area funeral homes in the metro-Boston areas, including the former Valante Funeral Home and Lyons Funeral Home in Newton .

David's expertise is the result of a 35-year career in funeral service. Having worked for many funeral directors, he brings a varied compilation of skills that will enhance the operation of Heald & Chiampa. David has natural gift in providing a sense of direction to families in their time of need.

David earned a degree in Applied Arts and Sciences from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston , MA . He then became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. In addition to his role as partner at Heald & Chiampa, he is currently a regional sales representative at Bass-Mollett Publishing Co., Boston, MA, and president of New England Funeral Supply Company, Newton, MA.  

David has been and continues to be involved in many civic and charitable organizations including, the Board of Directors at Funeral Institute of the Northeast, Westwood , MA .

David lives in Shrewsbury with his wife, Maryann, and their son.
